and Explore the Use of Data Visibility to
Understand Market Changes and React to Demand Variability

Having visibility into how trends are changing, and using that knowledge to evaluate future scenarios is crucial. Having real-time insights and data clarity allows businesses to develop actionable plans that can respond to new information on a daily basis. Whether it is changing customers, shifting demand patterns, or the need to phase out of one market and into another, utilizing IBP’s alerts and analytics, scenario planning, and time-based key figures can help planners see the changing market, and develop options.

A Problem / Solution Presentation

Visualizing the Problems

First, we will observe Forecast Accuracy degradation visually and learn how to discover a shift in demand from one product to another. Using analytics and alerts, we will identify the exact change between two products and demonstrate a transition to a new distribution point. Before using a scenario to solve the problem, we will observe the projected stock which is influenced by the forecasted demand on the original product.

Developing the Solutions

Next, we will illustrate how to solve for a shift in demand between products as customer patterns evolve and adjust. Utilizing exception-based planning and “what if” scenarios, we will model a forecast reposition and look for potential issues that can arise to determine if alternative approaches to remediate are required. This complete problem/solution approach emphasizes both process and technique.
